FEDERAL PRESIDENT ROMAN HERZOG

Federal President Roman Herzog visited the Europäisches Übersetzer-Kollegium on 28 April 1997 to inform himself on the working conditions of literary translators.

"When I visited the Europäisches Übersetzer-Kollegium in Straelen a few months ago, I was able to get a better picture of your profession. I was and am impressed when I bear in mind the difficulties, indeed the sacrifices you make."
